The art of filmmaking starts with film.
Super 8mm film, also called Super 8, is a motion picture film format released in 1965 by Eastman Kodak. Each fifty foot film cartridge records approximately 3 minutes of movie film. Although most amateur usage of Super 8 has been replaced by video, the format is still being used by artists wanting to make art with film.
My very first super 8mm film was in 1977 in a school project. From that moment on, I was in love with film. Combining my love of people and events, it was only natural for me to film weddings. I am very fortunate to be able to do what I love every day. I want to make art and my preferred medium is super 8 film.
Super 8 has been enjoying a renewed birth within the wedding cinematography industry. Super 8mm film adds an aspect of nostalgia and pure art that many love. Thanks to over a dozen film stocks and a look only Super 8 film can give, it’s an ideal medium for couples who want their wedding documented with style and art.
